Literacy
Children’s competency in oral language, reading and writing is a vital part of their education. The Aistear program is implemented in the junior classroom promoting literacy and numeracy skills through play. The children are provided with lots of opportunities to read books in our well-stocked classroom libraries. They take part in writing and poetry competitions, celebrate World Book Day as well as regularly presenting their work.

Is ar chumarsáid agus ar úsáid na teanga mar ghnáth-theanga bheo a leagtar béim I SN Cill Ros. Tá béim ann ar líofacht cainte agus ar leathnú chumas cumarsáide an pháiste i gcoitinne. Cuirfidh foghlaim na Gaeilge ar chumas an pháiste cumarsáid a dhéanamh in dhá theanga. We believe that Irish is best learned when it is heard in a natural environment as a living language. We encourage children to communicate in both Irish and English.
