KIlross Christmas Show
Welcome, welcome to Kilross Christmas Show,
Everyone has had such a year as you all well know.
But the show must go on, a little different this year,
We hope it brings to each of you, a little Christmas cheer.
Once upon a time,
A long, long time ago.
Begins the story of a baby,
That most of you should know.
His dad’s name was Joseph,
And Mary was His mum,
This baby was very special
He was God’s only Son.
Mary rode a donkey,
And Joseph walked beside
The road grew long and tiring
With each and every stride
But the little donkey didn’t moan
With his heavy load,
He brought the family safe and sound
Along the dusty road
When they arrived in Bethlehem,
The couple was turned away,
By keepers of the inn
Telling them of no place to stay.
Sorry you will have to try another place tonight
We have no room, it’s all booked up
I understand your plight
But Bethlehem is full you see,
They have travelled from far and near
There is just no place to go.
There is no room I fear.
Now Joseph- he insisted
That his wife had someplace to stay,
The keeper told him of a stable
With animals and hay.
Mary and Joseph’s journey ended
In a stable filled with hay,
It was there that Mary gave birth,
To our King on this day.
Some angels came from heaven,
And they began to sing.
To the shepherds in the fields below,
“Glad tidings do we bring!”
A baby boy has just been born
In a stable nearby
He is God’s only son,
In a manger he lies,
We have to go and visit him
If this story is true
But to leave our sheep we must prepare
We have so much work to do.
The shepherds made haste for their journey
To see the brand new king
All the sheep wanted to go
But only the best behaved sheep did they bring.
Word of the baby’s arrival
Soon spread very fast,
A bright star told the three Kings
That a Saviour was born at last.
This bright star lit the heavens,
To show the kings the way,
To the baby in the manger
Who was born on Christmas Day.
And all who gathered round Him,
Rejoiced and praised His birth.
For the baby, the King, named Jesus,
Is our Saviour here on earth!
So as we celebrate Christmas
With sweets and presents and more
Remember we have a Saviour,
Giving us life evermore.
We hope you enjoyed our Christmas show, our story, songs and rhyme.
To all our friends and families wherever you may be this Christmas time.
We look forward to the time with no masks or level fives,
When we can visit, hug and play,
But until that day arrives,
Remember to keep safe those you hold dear
Happy Christmas to all of you, from all of us here,
